Same Color – Different Shades

sweater: Nordstrom, tunic: American Apparel, jeans: forever 21, belt: Urban Outfitters, shoes: Cathy Jean

Sometimes the best color pairings are different shades of the same hue. Point in case – the pairing of this purple (almost fuchsia) tunic with the deeper draped sweater. It can be considered another take on color blocking, but in a more subtle way. At first I was going to pair this with plain old blue jeans, but then when I held up these white jeans there was no turning back. It really makes the colors pop! I found other variations on this technique across the web and had to share: Smashion does different shades of red head to toe; Because I’m Addicted showcases Kate Bosworth in pink hues; Could I Have That puts on a peachy outfit; The Sartorialist shows a man doing different shades of blue.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the announcement of my first ever GIVEAWAY. You won’t want to miss the chance to win something fabulous, because that is exactly what I can promise you will see. Also – an amazing deal for Twirly Skirts subscribers! Follow me now on Bloglovin, Twitter and subscribe to get a head start. ♥
