Absolutely Timeless

Top: Zadig & Voltaire, skirt: Savvy boutique, bag: Kathy Van Zeeland, shoes: Cathy Jean, sunglasses: Nordstrom

Some pieces will always remain timeless and this skirt is one of them. It has a simple neutral plaid pattern and tight pencil shape. I have seen this silhouette on everyone from Marilyn Monroe to Kim Kardashian, so this baby isn’t going to Goodwill anytime soon! Even better, the neutral palette allows for endless possibilities in the accessories department. By pairing it with this equally neutral top, I was able to add in both a bright bag and a fabulous beaded necklace. If I wanted to reverse it – I could have paired it with a colorful top and kept the accessories more subdued. This skirt can really be transformed to fit your mood. Slip on some tights and you get by in Winter with a tight-fitting leather bomber jacket. By using this shape in neutral colors like this Marc Jacob’s black version or this edgy beige Asos faux leather number you can work it into your existing wardrobe. If you don’t have one already – make the investment in a quality skirt now, because I guarantee you will wear it for years. ♥
